Critical Shift Engineer (Data Centre)
Terms: (Continental Shift Pattern)
Degree qualified either Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics
* NVQ Mechanical or Electrical Level 2/3
* Data Centre Experience
* City & Guilds level 2/3 Mech or Elec
* Other C&G Mechanical related quals i.e. AC/Refrigeration, Plumbing etc.
* A well-established maintenance provider who are renowned for their prestigious contracts are currently recruiting for a Data Centre Shift Engineer site based at a Data Centre in Watford. This reputable company are big believers in promoting staff internally and are currently looking to add a strong Shift Engineer to their team.
The successful candidate will be carrying out technical maintenance, repairs and installations and providing first and second line support in our data centre to meet customer SLAs. This involves monitoring buildings, environmental conditions, and relevant systems as well as technical equipment, and reporting issues to minimise downtime and ensure maximum performance. You'll also be overseeing contractor work, making sure they follow health and safety procedures and documenting the results. From routine preventative maintenance to highlighting potential risks and reacting to immediate issues, you'll ensure our data centre meets all our customer needs.
Proven engineering experience of air conditioning, UPS, generators, and LV systems
* Experience of working as a technician in an electrical or industrial environment
* Strong technical fault-finding skills using graphical information and alarm data.
* Good communication skills in English, including report writing.
* The ideal candidate has experience working in a Data Centre
* Strong building services background
