This role plays a key part in sourcing materials, goods, and services to support efficient and cost-effective operations. Key Responsibilities Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accurate sourcing. Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers based on capability, quality, delivery, and reliability. Manage day-to-day procurement activity to meet MRP demands and ensure on-time delivery. Lead price and contract negotiations to secure favourable terms, costs, and schedules. Create and manage purchase orders in line with company policies and compliance standards. Collaborate with internal teams to understand project requirements and resolve queries efficiently. Drive cost-saving and supply chain optimisation initiatives to support business objectives. Monitor supplier performance, manage risk, and address issues related to material quality, delivery, or pricing. Support the development and continuous improvement of procurement systems and processes. Key Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Technical Buyer within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management, and MRP systems (ERP experience required). Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills. Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Degree or professional qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline (preferred). Experience in a global industry role is advantageous.
