Senior Python Engineer - Backend Salary: £65,000 – £80,000 + 10% bonus Hybrid: 2 days per week in the office (Holborn, London) We're looking for a Senior Python backend Engineer to help build highly scalable, reliable, and well-designed backend services that power exceptional digital experiences. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-moving product environment where engineering, creativity, and collaboration drive everything we do. The Role You’ll play a key part in developing backend services that support complex data processing, microservices, and customer-facing features. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Design, and commercial teams, continuously improving our systems, processes, and ways of working. What You’ll Do Build scalable and maintainable backend services. Use the right tools for the job and recommend new frameworks, techniques, or technologies. Work closely with Product, Design, and Sales teams to deliver impactful features. Contribute through code reviews, design sessions, pair programming, and technical discussions. Identify opportunities to improve engineering workflow and Agile practices. Tech Stack You’ll work with a modern and flexible tech setup including: Python · FastAPI · AWS · OpenSearch · PostgreSQL · Django · GitHub · Kubernetes · Helm · Terraform What You’ll Need Strong experience building backend systems in Python (any framework). Solid understanding of databases, OO design, data structures, and SOLID principles. Problem-solving mindset with a drive for continuous improvement. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across teams. Collaborative approach and willingness to work closely with both engineers and business stakeholders.
