Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer

A European leader in cloud implementation, application development, and managed services is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to work for one of their healthcare providers responsible for software engineering. The ideal candidate will apply solid engineering principles to analyze, design, and develop new and modified software components to meet customer needs and expectations.

  • London (2 x in office weekly)
Requirements
  • Owns the cloud platform to ensure it is properly configured, stable, and that changes are made in a controlled way.
  • Design, build and maintain core infrastructure.
  • Owns CICD pipelines for integration and deployment to make the process as uneventful as possible.
  • Promotes repeatable actions and automation.
  • Debug platform issues across services and levels of the stack.
  • Right-size and plan the growth of our infrastructure to support our products and services, optimizing performance and cost efficiency.
  • Monitoring and alerting trigger on symptoms and to prevent outages.
  • Produce and maintain relevant, easy to understand and accurate documentation to help colleagues understand and maintain products and services.
  • Optimize security of cloud estate.
  • Atlassian toolset - JIRA & Confluence.
  • Documents activity: run books, checklists to promote relatable activities.
  • Automates repeatable, manual tasks.
  • Comfortable scripting code e.g., in bash, python, etc.
  • Able to articulate the extent to which products owned by own squad are managed using IaC and automation.

  • Ansible
  • Some familiarity with declarative configuration and formats such as JSON, YAML, XML
