Our client is a well known medical charity and they seek a strong Interim FD for 3 to 4 months to cover the gap whilst they hire a permanent leader. There are also some key projects that need attention including a large capital appeal and oversight of a financial systems implementation. 

The Interim FD will need to be in the Norwich area for at least two days per week and the role could be structured on a four day per week basis. Ideally commencing mid/late June 2024. 

Role & Responsibilities

The Interim FD, for the duration of the assignment, will be a key member of Executive Team responsible for the Charity’s finances, providing financial analysis and guidance, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate. They will ensure compliance with Charity Commission laws and regulations; and be responsible for the team of 7-8 finance professionals.

The Desired Candidate

  • Professionally Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Good understanding and experience of the charity sector incl. charity SORP and charity governance and Charity Commission requirements
  • Experience of working at Executive/Board level, ideally within a medium sized, privately owned commercial enterprise
  • Operational with proven ability to work at a strategic level, with responsibility for leading multi-disciplined team
  • Strong business acumen, with change management and process improvement skills.
