Backup & Storage Engineer Based in Surrey/London 2-4 Days in the Office
Up to £80k basic + 20% Bonus, 15% Pension, 27 Days Holiday + Excellent Benefits


The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in storage and backup solutions, particularly with NetBackup, EMC/Dell Data Domain & NetApp systems, and will be passionate about ensuring data integrity and availability within enterprise environments.


Monitor and maintain storage infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.
Perform capacity planning, reporting, and monitoring to reinforce capacity, availability, and efficiency.
Provide support for disaster recovery and data protection initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate storage solutions with cloud platforms like Azure and AWS.
Scripting Skills : Strong scripting abilities, particularly in [relevant scripting languages, e.g., Python, Shell, Perl].

Dell Data Domain Knowledge : Understanding and practical experience with Dell Data Domain, including:
Configuration and management of Dell Data Domain systems.
Experience with Data Domain Boost and its integration with backup applications.
Familiarity with Data Domain replication technologies and disaster recovery solutions.
Knowledge of monitoring and performance tuning of Data Domain systems.

System Administration : Strong background in system administration for various operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, Unix).
Troubleshooting : Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues related to backups and data recovery.
Performance Optimization : Skills in optimizing backup performance and managing large data sets efficiently.
Understanding of data security and compliance requirements in backup solutions.
Project Management : Experience managing backup-related projects from initiation to completion.
Certifications : Relevant certifications in NetBackup, system administration, or related fields are a plus.
