The Role The Senior Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of all organiser operational requirements for Farnborough Internationals growing portfolio of non-aerospace events. They will also have areas of responsibility for operational delivery at the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA). The Maternity Cover will ideally commence on 2nd September 2024 for 10 months. Their role is to provide the highest level of management, service and support to the Operations team, Event teams, exhibitors, contractors and stakeholders, and to implement the operational strategy. They will take ownership and responsibility for the planning and on-site delivery of the operational elements of their allocated events. They will ensure high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained, that deadlines are achieved and budgets closely controlled. They will manage their direct team and other team members supporting the events. The role directly reports to the Head of Aerospace Operations and manages two Operations Executives. The Candidate Skills Customer Focused A fluent and excellent communicator at all levels Strong organisational and diplomatic skills Experience of managing, coaching and supporting line reports Assertive with ability to portray authority and composure Working knowledge and expertise in coordinating contractors and the preparation of tenders Ability to work to tight deadlines and working to set budgets Ability to be flexible and think on your feet when required Innovative and Creative Precise budget forecasting and management Hands on approach Excellent attention to detail Able to prioritise and set workloads for self and others Able to understand technical design plans Flexible attitude to working hours Personable and a good team player Minimum of 5 years experience operationally managing events or exhibitions. Full driving licence required IOSH Managing Safely NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable) Working knowledge of the following: Microsoft office packages Project Planning The Contract Salary: £50,000, depending on experience Contract; Maternity Cover/Fixed Term Contract for 10 months, commencing 2nd September 2024, fulltime role, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week Location; Hybrid working- 3 days in the Farnborough office and 2 days from home Benefits; bonus, pension, private health insurance, life insurance, cycle to work scheme, hybrid working, extended remote working, enhanced parental leave, 28 days annual leave, buy additional annual leave, long service additional annual leave.
