Job Title: Graduate RF Design Engineer

Salary: £25,000 to £28,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity for a fresh or early-stage Graduate Radio Frequency Engineer to join our company, initially working on an Innovate UK funded project. The aim is to build a commercial demonstrator of a wireless power transfer system using novel electronics and physical principles.

Working on novel technologies in magnetic resonance, the successful candidate will interact with academic leaders in the technology field, working towards a commercial demonstrator in renewable energy systems.

Increasing the supply of clean energy is crucial for our world and this project will have a positive impact on the climate. The innovation involves transmitting high levels of electrical power across a gap wider than currently possible.

The successful applicant will be responsible for building the power electronics to an existing design that produces 1000-8000W at VHF/UHF. Additionally, building the magnetic resonator unit to a novel, patented design that has exceptional performance.

Throughout the product development phase, the project will progress from a simple test-bed design, mastering the basics, to more advanced stages towards a final prototype for real-world applications

• Relevant experience and/or understanding of building power electronics
• Experience of CAD and computer simulation - particularly Comsol for predictive modeling and Solidworks for mechanical design

Working mostly independently in a dynamic environment, you should be a self-starter who can operate remotely from management, yet receive guidance and support to stay on the right track.
