About The Role

Morrison Energy Services is recruiting for a High Voltage Cable Jointer to work on our UK Power Networks contract in Hertfordshire. As a High Voltage Cable Jointer, you will be a part of our substation build team who deliver Capital Programme works on UKPN's 11kV, 33kV & 132kV Distribution Network. Your role will involve the jointing and terminating of 11kV and 33kV cables onto High Voltage equipment. Morrison Energy Services is proud to be a key partner in the UKPN Alliance, delivering substation build and refurbishment works across the East of England including design, project management, cable installation, building construction, jointing, switchgear, bunding, commissioning, decommissioning, and demolition.

Responsibilities:

  • Use and interpret manuals, asset standards, and other technical information to assist with Installations and remedial works
  • Work in accordance with the company and client safe systems of work and permit to work systems
  • Adapt and respond to unforeseen events and act accordingly
  • Plan and coordinate effectively without supervision
  • Work on your own or as part of a team
  • Mentor and coach less experienced staff and apprentices in developing their knowledge and skills

Qualifications:

  • Hold an NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical discipline or completed an approved Apprenticeship
  • Hold a full driver's license
  • Act as a competent person to receive safety documentation
  • Experience in terminating Inner Cone and T-Boot cable terminations
  • Experience in installing Indoor / Outdoor Raychem 11kV/33kV terminations
  • Experience in Jointing XLPE to XLPE / XLPE to PILC 11kV / 33kV cable Joints
  • Experience in dressing and cleating above ground terminations

Additional Information:

You must possess a high degree of manual dexterity demonstrated through the use of hand tools. You will be required to work outdoors in all weathers and be required to walk and stand on uneven ground. You must also be able to work within a confined space, without restriction.
