The team at NET Recruit are collaborating with a business operating in the construction space, who are searching for a Principal Structural Engineer to join their team in the Exeter area. Offering services in the building and also infrastructure sectors, encompassing rail and bridges, alongside temporary solutions as well, this is a highly successful business experiencing a period of stable growth, thus making it a promising time to join the business.

The position holder will be a key player in upcoming projects that the company has planned and ones that will inevitably come to fruition in the coming years. The person in this role will be expected to provide their knowledge and expertise on projects to help bring them to reality in a realistic and measurable way that meets expectations all round. This will be an exciting and dynamic role and will allow the position holder to diversify their knowledge and take on new and exciting projects of which they will be vital to the success of.

Conducting surveys and inspections of various structures to ensure these meet set out criteria
Ensuring that project programmes are prepared
Preparing and creating drawings and specifications, design calculations and analysis and also construction cost estimates
Working together with other professionals, such as designers, architects and contractors on the design and construction of projects

Applicants should possess a minimum of 5 years in structural engineering, and it would be highly beneficial to have experience covering both commercial and domestic projects as well as temporary solutions too. Knowledge of engineering software and AutoCAD is a must. Excellent communication skills will be sought after in this role, to ensure the ability to work with various other professionals and teams and be able to communicate clear and important data when needed.

For the successful candidate you can expect a salary of up to £60,000, depending on the level of experience gained in structural engineering, and this will also accompany a very good package including a strong holiday offering with the option to purchase additional days, and also a great pension scheme, healthcare options, study support and paid membership to professional bodies and various other incentives. This role can also be worked in a hybrid capacity with 3 days expected in the office and the rest working from home.
