As the company embarks on an ambitious growth journey, they are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to take charge of financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial management.
Role Overview:
The Interim Financial Controller will play a critical role in leading the finance team, managing financial reporting, and implementing strong internal controls. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure the company’s financial health and support its growth trajectory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS/UK GAAP standards.
- Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and monitor robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing detailed analysis and insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow planning and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet the company’s operational and strategic needs. Monitor cash flow and identify potential risks.
- Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring all financial activities comply with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Financial Analysis: Provide in-depth financial analysis to senior management, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities. Support strategic initiatives with relevant financial data and insights.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional Qualification: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a strong technical accounting background.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Financial Controller, preferably within a private equity-backed or multi-site business environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in financial management software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a finance team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to think strategically and provide insights that drive business performance and growth.
