Role: Design Engineer Senior/Lead

Work Location: Derby, UK (Fully onsite role)

Type of Project: Contract Outside IR35

Duration of the Project: Starts with 6 months and extends few more months posibilly

Relevant Experience:

  • As a Desing engineer, you'll possess 8 -15 years experience within aerospace gas turbine design.
  • You will be capable of executing on design and development projects, provide technical guidance and oversight, ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, collaborate with cross-functional teams in requirements capture and execution, stay updated on emerging technologies, designs, and manufacturing methods.
  • As a seasoned problem solver, conduct analyses and contribute to innovation within New Product Introduction (NPI) projects

Demonstrable experience in gas turbine low pressure compressor design and analysis in the following areas:

  • Design and modification of key aeroengine two-spool low pressure compressor components such as, discs, statics, aerofoils, seals, attaching parts.
  • Certification reports, design record book and definition solutions accounting for layouts, clash checks, materials, weights, and tolerances.
  • Execution of design in cross-functional teams.
  • Design trade studies iterating existing architecture to form design improvements and incremental gains in performance, materials, weight, cost, aero and thermal properties across the compressor and turbine.
