Our Partner School:

Due to the maternity leave, we’re currently looking for an FTC Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our school near Thetford. Our School near Thetford provides day placements for students aged 11 to 16 years primarily with communication and interaction difficulties or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Main Purpose of the Higher Level Teaching Assistant Role:

Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school’s policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT.

To lead in the absence of any Class Teachers across the school.

Support the day to day running of classes across the school and take the lead in the absence of a class teacher.

Participate in the planning and evaluation of learning activities.

Further professional development by engaging in reflective practices and continuous professional development and appraisal, including attending all statutory training provided by the school.

Contribute to the community life of the school by taking an active part in the preparation and celebration of both community and multi-cultural events.

Respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and undertake duties and tasks to the highest ability in order to achieve the smooth running of the school.

The Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification, or demonstrate equivalent skill level.

GCSE pass above C (or 4 in the new GCSE system) in English and Maths

Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN, SLD/PMLD, ADHD and ASD

Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures

Experience working within education is advantageous

Due to the rural location of the school near Thetford, candidates are strongly advised to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
