We are seeking a detail-oriented, well-organised payroll manager to join the growing Framework team. This client-facing position is crucial to ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing for our clients and their employees. 

In this role, you will:

  • Administer and process compliant end-to-end payroll for Framework’s clients, ranging from sole traders to growing medium-sized businesses;
  • Calculate and process statutory deductions, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions;
  • Process P11Ds, P60s, and P45s;
  • Ensure all deadlines (e.g. for BACS payments) are met;
  • Manage auto-enrolment pensions schemes and TPR compliance;
  • Provide general payroll advice for clients including advising clients on general payroll policy;
  • Manage systems for collecting timesheet, overtime and performance related pay information;
  • Support client onboarding by training new clients on payroll systems and data collection;
  • Ensure compliance with relevant payroll and tax legislation and regulations;
  • Liaise with clients, building and maintaining strong relationships with them.

This position is part-time (14 to 21 hours per week – 2 to 3 days), and we are flexible around whether you work in our central Edinburgh office, or on a remote or hybrid basis.

  • Proven experience in a payroll administration or management role, ideally within an accountancy practice managing multiple payrolls;
  • Thorough understanding of payroll legislation, tax, national insurance, and auto enrolment regulations; 
  • Proactive, process-driven approach, with exceptional organisational skills;
  • Great attention to detail and a high level of accuracy;
  • Experience using Xero Payroll;
  • Strong working knowledge of GSuite, Google Docs and Google Sheets;
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
