You will put children and young people at the heart of our work, in order to inform and shape the agenda in Scotland.You will develop positions based on sound human rights principles and communicate them using a wide range oftools including reports, briefings, consultation responses, parliamentary evidence, by producing speeches, andcontributing content for online and social media content and external media statements.

Supporting the Head of Strategy, you will be responsible for providing policy advice on human rights issues relatingto children and young people in Scotland and working with colleagues in Commissioner’s offices across the UK,Europe and internationally.

You’ll be joining a dedicated staff team who bring a variety of skills and talents to influence and drive progresswithin children’s human rights. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and committed colleague for an exciting new role.

The Projects and Participation Assistant is an important point of contact for children and young people engaged withour office. The role cuts across all our rights-based work and includes assisting colleagues in a wide range oftasks to support the delivery of the Commissioner’s statutory functions.

Snow Camp is a ground-breaking national youth charity, and we are lookingto recruit a fantastic Wellbeing Manager to join our Scotland team based in Glasgow

Our accredited programmes are unique and attractive to young people, taking them from beginner to qualifiedsnowsports instructors in just one year with volunteering and apprenticeship progression routes available at theend. Alongside learning to ski or snowboard, young people also have access to wellbeing support with theemphasis on improving young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

You will work 2.5 days per week and will be responsible for the delivery of our group wellbeing workshops andproviding 1to1 wellbeing support sessions to young people. You will also work as part of the Scotland team toprovide support on our youth programmes throughout each year.

Experience of working successfully with under-served young people in a range of settings, with a focus on supportingyoung people’s wellbeing will be essential to the post. Passion for snowsports and supporting young peoplegenerally will be a huge advantage

Youth work, mental health & wellbeing support experience, project management, logistical skills, managingrelationships, communication and presentation skills will make up the role. Along with experience of deliveringgroup workshops to help young people work towards meaningful goals to improve their emotional wellbeing.

1. A passion for supporting young people’s wellbeing and mental health.

2. At least 2 years’ experience working with young people on a one-to-one basis.

3. At least 2 years’ experience of delivering group workshops and training to young people.

4. The ability to ski or snowboard (or willingness to learn, you can be taught by one of our young people).

5. Sound knowledge of MS Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

1. Wellbeing or Counselling qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all aspects of finance including producing management accounts, supporting CEO with budgets andtracking spend against budgets and grants, preparation of accounts for audit process, financial processing,payroll and bank payments.
  • Maintaining HR records using an online system, working with HR advisors toproduce HR documentation i.e. contracts and support staff recruitment and induction process.
  • Supportinggood governance and risk management of the organisation through working with board and CEO to maintain/updatepolicies, comply with data storage requirements and manage relevant records/files.
  • Support with theacquisition and manage of contracts with suppliers, and oversee membership of associated bodies.
  • SupportCEO and board with secretarial support as required.
  • Working with CEO to have general oversight over YMCApremises.

About You

  • Significantly high levels of self-motivation and a positive attitude.
  • Experienced in both day to day accounting and financial oversight over an organisations finances. With a recognised accounting qualification or significant experience in similar role.
  • Ability to work independently, manage diary and organisation affairs to support the effective running of an organisation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and articulately in a variety of forms, oral, written, electronic with a broad range of groups.
  • Experience in the use of ICT for communication.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive working relationships.
  • Commitment to working with integrity, honesty and empathy, with an understanding and acceptance of other.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to prioritise and cope with the demands.
