*The Role:*

In this role, you will report directly to the Transport Manager and will be responsible for facilitating a first-class level of customer service to all internal and external customers at all times.
* This role will require lifting so you will need to be physically fit.
* Good timekeeping and a smart appearance are essential. Some uniform will be provided.

*Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: *
* Liaising with teams at the start of each day, making sure all relevant and required equipment is loaded prior to departure from head office
* Driving to address, working together to safely park vehicle in an adequate position to facilitate loading
* Checking with the client which items are to be moved
* Dismantling large items of furniture for packing and removal
* Carefully packing items and belongings
* Keeping an accurate record of any storage requirements; including but not limited to, accurately make an inventory of items and storage locations
* Effectively load items and furniture into the vehicle and securing them safely
* Safely drive to the new location, working together to safely park vehicle in an adequate position to facilitate unloading
* Ensuring full payment has been received prior to unloading
* Unloading belongings and placing them where needed, under instruction from the client
* When job completed, check with other teams to see if any assistance is required
* Ensuring customer completes all required paperwork
* Start and finish times will vary and you may be required to spend nights away
* Ensuring vehicles are well maintained, clean, tidy and safely locked at the end of the day
* Comply with all Company health and safety procedure and to report any accidents or near misses to your line manager immediately
* To ensure the security of the Company vehicle you are in charge of at all times
* To operate within the law at all times and to raise any vehicle maintenance concerns immediately with your line manager
* Drive in accordance with the law and drive, in a safe and courteous manner at all times
* Be prepared to drive a range of vehicles and be flexible within the parameters of your role, including training and development in accordance to the needs of the business
* A combination of analogue and digital tachographs are used and drivers must be fully acquainted with the relevant legislation as set out in Senior Traffic Commissioners Statutory Document No.6 Vocational Drivers Section 45 Conduct and Fitness
* To have a good knowledge of the Road Transport Directive (RTD) for the purpose of working time.
* Be able to demonstrate compliance by evidence of a low infringement record.

*Experience and Skills*
* A good standard of literacy and numeracy in order to fulfil the role
* C Driving licence HGV Class 2, DQC, Driver card
* Geographical knowledge of the UK
* Experience in the removals industry preferred but not essential as training will be given.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £12.50-£13.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
