Frontline Recruitment in Weymouth seeks a Production Operative candidate to join our client in the Crewkerne area of Somerset. Reporting to: Team Leader / Production Manager The purpose of the role is to saw and machine timber efficiently, accurately and safely to customer orders, ensuring finished products are of prescribed quality and produced on time. Responsibilities: To accurately, efficiently, and safely saw and/or machine works orders. To work to maximize the yield from each piece of timber. To clearly and correctly tally sawn/machined timber on to production paperwork or system. To stack, band and label each completed order in a safe and presentable manner. To assist with any other reasonable tasks as required. Key Performance Indicator/s (KPI/s): Linear metres produced per hour/day Wastage percentage Tidiness & cleanliness of work area Skills required: Good standard of basic education – especially maths (average or above) Fluent English language spoken & able to read detailed work instructions Reliable, to be on-time for work every day Quick learner & Self-motivated Focused yet flexible approach Respect for authority & disciplined, tidy Practical and logical; the ability to solve problems quickly and accurately Time-management skills – to meet production deadlines Keen attention to detail – to pick up on special order requirements and analysing products for quality and accuracy Ability to perform well in a time-pressured environment Good coordination and communication skills Experience in working in a timber sawmill, operating machinery, machining timber with a certificate or diploma qualification (preferred). Forklift license (preferred). Own transport essential due to the location of the company. Pay rate: £12-£13/hour DOE. Schedule: Monday to Friday - 7AM to 4PM / 40 hours per week
