Personal Adviser 35 Hours per week - Monday - Friday £15.70 per hour As a personal adviser you will hold a case load of Young people providing 1:1 support whilst undertaking the role as Personal adviser as described in Children Leaving care Act 2000 & the amendments as set out in the Children and Social work Act 2017 . This will include include reviewing and updating pathway plans . The skills and abilities we are looking for include the following:

  • Be passionate about improving the life chances of young people.
  • Enjoy working with and understand the needs of adolescents.
  • Be a good team player and be able to work on your own initiative.
  • Be able to work well with other agencies and utilise community resources for the benefit of young people.
  • Have an understanding of the role of the Corporate Parent.
  • Be qualified at a minimum of Level 3 Child Care or related field.
  • Knowledge of the legal framework in which children’s services operate
  • Excellent organisational skills and abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
Experience Substantial and demonstrable experience of working with children and families in particular adolescents
  • Understanding of the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and other relevant up to date legislation.
  • Experience of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with other agencies/ professionals.
  • To demonstrate an understanding of the needs of the service users.
  • Understanding of an assessment process in order to develop plans and implement care packages.
Qualifications •Vocational qualification level 3 in Care (or equivalent) in a related field e.g. Social Work, Health, Education, Youth Work Interested Please apply
