Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Salary: Up to £400 per day (outside IR35, dependent on experience) Location: Manchester (M32 0RS) – hybrid, minimum 3 days per week in office Type: Contract About the Role: Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to support ongoing projects within the UK regulated water industry. You’ll be working on various UMON projects at Sewage Treatment Works, collaborating closely with a dynamic engineering design team. About the Client: Our client is a well-established engineering design consultancy working across the UK rail and utilities sectors, with a growing focus on the water industry. They pride themselves on a friendly, focused culture and a genuine commitment to staff wellbeing. Key Responsibilities: Deliver detailed mechanical design work for UK water sector projects. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve project goals. Ensure design compliance with relevant UK standards and regulations. Support project delivery from concept through to detailed design and implementation. What Our Client is Looking For: Proven experience delivering mechanical design for the UK regulated water industry. Strong technical understanding of sewage treatment or related utility infrastructure. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a design team. Available to work from the Manchester office at least 3 days per week. What Our Client Offers: Contract position outside IR35. Hybrid working arrangement (minimum 3 days in-office).
