Location: hybrid working - 3 office / site days per week

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Team Leader to join the Wastewater Service Delivery Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Everyone has an idea of what a water company does. Our Flow & Spill team plays a vital role in delivering exceptional performance across storm overflows, pass forward flow compliance, storm storage optimisation, and network performance. We’re looking for a Technical Team Leader to help us drive forward our environmental performance and compliance.

As a Technical Team Leader – Flow & Spill , you will:
 

Lead and support a team of technical specialists focused on flow and spill performance
Provide scientific, technical, and operational direction for flow and spill-related assets
Analyse and interpret operational data to identify risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement
Develop and track action plans to ensure compliance with environmental permits and internal performance targets
Collaborate with operational teams, asset management, permitting, and regulatory teams to align strategies and deliver improvements
Represent Yorkshire Water in audits and site visits with the Environment Agency
Support the development and implementation of management systems and procedures
Strong leadership and people management experience
Experience in change management, conflict resolution, and strategy delivery
Ability to interpret and communicate complex technical and financial information
Full UK driving licence and access to own car
 
Experience developing and implementing management systems
Background in coaching and mentoring technical teams
Familiarity with risk registers and investment planning
