Join Close Brothers Asset Finance and Leasing Finance Team where you will report to the AF&L (Asset Finance & Leasing) Financial Controller and is responsible for supporting the AF&L regulatory reporting. The role manages the submissions of all our monthly quarterly and annual returns for the AF&L businesses, including COREP, FINREP and PRA110. The role also supports the development of the Banks IRB. The Asset Finance and Leasing (AF&L) division is part of the wider Commercial Division within the Close Brothers Limited (Bank). The AF&L division comprises of multiple businesses, has a loan book of c£3bn and over 25,000 customers. The businesses operate across a diverse set of sectors including Transport, Industrial Equipment and mid ticket leasing. Assets funded range from standard commercial vehicles and yellow metal construction equipment to project finance for Energy developments. RESPONSIBILITIES- Support the preparation and submission of high-quality regulatory returns to the Group Regulatory team. Returns include COREP, FINREP and Bank of England reporting.
- Manage and review the preparation of the AF&L loan book and cashflow by the Assistant Financial Accountant, this involves reviewing large volumes of work streams and performing data analysis, validation checks, resolution of reporting discrepancies.
- Reporting to the AF&L Finance Director and AF&L Financial Controller on a regular basis on the monthly key reporting metrics and escalation of issues as appropriate.
- Perform reconciliation of all data points used in the regulatory returns as the new IRB data warehouse is built. Clearly articulate the differences identified in reconciliations and influencing project team to implement changes.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for regulatory processes impacting AF&L by providing technical input into the data initiative projects as well as challenge proposals given the knowledge and awareness of complex systems
- Assist in preparation and review of the interim and full year group reporting packs as well as financial statements. This will include review of journals to ensure that they are accounted for correctly.
- Support the external year-end audit process to ensure a clean audit report.
- Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required
- Proven experience of PRA and BoE regulatory reporting in the Banking sector
- Strong understanding of a Bank's business, risk management and process and control arrangements,
- Broad understanding of financial accounting and ability to translate to regulatory reporting
- Strong project management skills, including time management, prioritisation, organisation and evaluation skills
- Ability to dive deep into data, existing processes, people and technology challenges to identify issues and opportunities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with a proactive approach

- Fluent English required (verbal/ written)
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with minimum 2-3 years PQE,
- Strong Excel skills (V-look-ups, Pivot tables, Index- Match)
- Microsoft Office
