Our newly established Transport Skills Academy (TSA) is dedicated to creating a one-stop destination for the existing and potential workforce in the West Midlands to build capacity and capability across the transport infrastructure. We will change perceptions of the sector, inspire people from diverse backgrounds to enter the sector and provide skills and training to bridge the skills gap.
The team is in search of an experienced and dynamic Transport Skills Academy Advisor to join them until the end of December. In this role, you will play a vital part in crafting an aspirational approach for young individuals to enter the sector through engagement with schools, colleges, universities, and communities, to meet the increasingly high demand for engineering and other essential skills.
The primary emphasis of this role is fostering connections with individuals to advocate for, enhance awareness of, and boost engagement with the Transport Skills Academy and its array of services. This is a crucial role for the organisation as you will inspire the next generation to explore opportunities within the transport sector and contribute to shaping the future of the West Midlands.
This role offers immense fulfilment for individuals who thrive on interacting with students, possess expertise in apprenticeships and career pathways, and are deeply passionate about guiding young people in making crucial decisions about their future careers.
This is a highly rewarding role working with young people and introducing them to the world of transport.
Develop and maintain annual project plans that really focuses on engagement.
Deliver our Young Leaders work experience programme as well as activities with schools, colleges, and universities to encourage thinking about careers in the sector.
Support with the establishment of the Young Ambassador network.
Produce presentations for a range of different audiences which will help to communicate information about the TSA.
Produce reports as required (usually monthly) to inform our internal groups and structure on performance and progress against project plans.
This is a highly rewarding role working with young people and introducing them to the world of transport.
Evidence of working with young people to support the delivery of the work experience programme, to include presentations, leading and managing group activities and developing sessions.
Evidence of successfully managing projects, utilizing effective project management methodologies to ensure projects are delivered to time and budget.
Knowledge of apprenticeships and career pathways to support young people and existing employees in making choices for training and development.
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including excel.
