This is a role with clear progression and career development opportunities for the right individual. As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in the Procurement and Supply Chain Management activities within the business and drive the cost-effective acquisition of products. You will be sourcing, negotiating and purchasing goods ensuring that quality, lead-times and pricing are effective against business objectives. As the Buyer, you will be responsible for:

  • Supplier Management – identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers and ensuring strong relationships are built to allow for effective negotiations.
  • Managing Purchase order process – ensure accurate and effective process whilst tracking and monitoring order statuses. Working to ensure any backorders/backlogs are managed in order to achieve customer OTIF.
  • Cost control – manage purchasing spend through effective negotiating around price / quantities and quality.
  • Staying abreast of market trends and developments that will effect supply chain / pricing
  • Evaluating supply chain and mitigating risks
We are looking for someone who:
  • Wants an opportunity to grow and develop into a Buyer role
  • Has previous experience in a Purchasing Assistant / Assistant Buyer / Buyer role
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to fact-find, negotiate, and query where necessary
  • Strong IT Skills and experience with a MRP/ERP system would be advantageous
  • Experience working with a high volume of SKU’s and a good grounding of stock control principles would be ideal but not essential
