Reporting to the Method Manager the Senior Methods Engineer will work on a new prestigious contract Sir Robert McAlpine have secured to construct a state-of-the-art Battery Manufacturing Facility. The initial phase of the project includes the design and construction of a new 15GWh lithium-ion battery facility, ancillary buildings, and site-wide external works. This role will help the project develop construction methods that are practical, effective, efficient, economic and safe. Methods is a new team within the business and the dedicated resource to the projects is proving invaluable to reducing safety, construction and commercial risks. Review and input to the constructability of the permanent design.
Set the execution methods (methods sequencing, operating procedures, phasing, cycles) in line with the Programme and the Quality-Safety-Environment rules.
Carry out studies regarding site installations and the lifting equipment working closely with the lifting team.
Determine all plant resources needed for steelwork erection, cladding installation, M&E Logistical movements and safety.
Provide monitoring and inspection of manufacturers of special plant/equipment: consultation, ordering, checking the calculation notes and fabrication drawings, acceptance in factory, dummy assembly, packaging.
Monitor studies of technical risks (Methods) of the project.
 
Engineering Degree qualified and have a construction engineering industry related Professional membership (e.Experience of working on large construction projects £100mil +
Knowledge of the full Microsoft office suite 
Autocad skills to review or sketch designs preferred – but ability to pick up software with training quickly.
