Director of Data & Analytics

Overview

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Data & Analytics to provide strategic leadership for their data strategy and key data functions. This pivotal role involves ensuring the development of a robust data governance framework, overseeing transformational programmes, and championing a data-driven culture within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing team, providing strategic direction, technical expertise, and mentoring.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration.
  • Serve as a key ambassador of a data-driven culture and chair data governance groups as required.
  • Actively participate in transformation initiatives and operating model discussions.

Delivery

  • Develop and implement the organisation’s data strategy aligned with its corporate goals.
  • Manage data governance frameworks to ensure data quality and compliance.
  • Oversee the delivery of BI reports, ensuring they meet stakeholder needs in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor and report key performance metrics to senior management and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Ensure contracts with suppliers adhere to procurement frameworks and manage supplier performance.
  • Identify and implement data-related improvements in collaboration with business operations teams.

Person Specification

Experience

  • Proven leadership track record with the ability to meet challenging objectives.
  • Extensive experience in building and managing senior-level relationships.
  • Demonstrable expertise in leading data and information governance functions.
  • Successful delivery of change programmes with wide stakeholder engagement.
  • Expertise in digital development, data strategy implementation, and improving data quality.

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of BI, data design, analytics, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of data protection, information governance, and enterprise architecture principles.
  • Familiarity with project management and software development methodologies.

Skills

  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Skilled negotiator with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse audiences.
