The Assistant Environmental & Chemistry Officer role comes with a competitive salary and benefits package. If you're an Assistant Environmental and Chemistry Officer and are looking to work for a leading Biomass Power Station then upload your CV to apply today. Responsibilities and duties: Reporting to the Environmental and Chemistry Officer you will: Assist the Environment and Chemistry department development, including working closely with other departments when required. Have a strong oversight of the emissions monitoring and LPL's waste duty of care. Assist in the management of the power station chemistry function, including updating the Environmental Management system. Carry out daily Health and Safety walk arounds of the site. Supervise shift chemists, providing direction and assistant to them as required. Assist with the management of the department's budget. Assist the competent person on site with hazardous substances (COSHH) and Legionella management Professional qualifications: We are looking for someone with the following: Experience using Laboratory Analysis equipment and techniques. IT literate, confident using the full Microsoft Suite Experience gained in the Power Industry, or other heavy industry, in a similar role. A NEBSOH / IOSH and / or a Degree in a relevant subject are desirable but not essential. A WAMITAB is desirable but not essential. Personal skills: The Assistant Environmental and Chemistry Officer role would suit someone who is: Enthusiastic attitude Ability to learn quickly.
