We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Planner with a focus on system implementation projects to join one our client in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have a strong consulting background and system Implementation background.

This role requires a demonstrated ability to create detailed plans for complex projects, work across multiple projects simultaneously, and navigate ambiguity while driving successful outcomes. The successful candidate must possess deep process knowledge and demonstrate proactive behaviours, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to manage risks and issues independently.

System Implementation Project Planning:

  • Lead the detailed planning efforts for system implementation projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder requirements.
  • Work closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to create comprehensive project plans, encompassing tasks, timelines, resource allocation, and dependencies.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to facilitate project execution and tracking.

Cross-Project Coordination:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple projects to ensure alignment and consistency in planning efforts.
  • Identify and manage dependencies between projects, proactively addressing any conflicts or resource constraints.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams to ensure clarity and understanding of project plans and priorities.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Utilize consulting experience to provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior management on project planning and execution.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, to gather input, provide updates, and address concerns related to project planning and progress.
  • Demonstrate credibility in interactions, leveraging past experience and expertise to drive decision-making processes.

Risk Management and Issue Resolution:

  • Take ownership of managing risks and issues related to project planning, proactively identifying potential obstacles and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Anticipate and address challenges that may arise during the planning process, ensuring timely resolution to keep projects on track.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to escalate issues as needed and drive resolution

Project duration of 6-9+ months.

Hybrid working, with an expectation of 2 days in our Birmingham office (Mailbox, B1 1RF), every other week.

Travel cost can be expensed.

Rates circa £600-700 per day
