Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer for a 12-month contract role to support the build and management of Azure infrastructure for hosting third-party applications in a banking environment. This position is fully remote, with occasional travel to London for key meetings or project milestones.

The successful candidate will have strong Azure infrastructure experience, combined with hands-on DevOps capabilities, and a background in the banking or financial services sector. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure cloud solutions, including automation and CI/CD pipelines, while ensuring high standards of security, compliance, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and Manage Azure Infrastructure: Design, implement, and manage robust Azure infrastructure for hosting third-party applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • DevOps Pipeline Implementation: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment, scaling, and monitoring of applications and infrastructure in Azure.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure all Azure environments adhere to industry security standards and compliance requirements, particularly those relevant to banking and financial services.
  • Automation and Configuration Management: Utilize tools like Terraform, Ansible, or ARM templates for infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate the deployment and management of Azure resources.
  • Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to track system performance, detect issues, and optimize infrastructure costs and performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, architects, and stakeholders to ensure that infrastructure solutions meet business requirements and SLAs.
  • Documentation: Produce clear and concise documentation for the infrastructure and pipelines, enabling smooth handover and maintenance by the wider team.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in Azure cloud infrastructure design and management , including compute, storage, networking, and security.
  • Strong DevOps experience , including CI/CD pipeline development (using tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git, etc.).
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise , preferably with Terraform, ARM templates, or Ansible.
  • Previous experience in the banking or financial services sector is essential, with a strong understanding of the security and compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) , Azure Networking , and Azure Security tools .
  • Solid scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation.
  • Familiarity with third-party application hosting and integration in Azure environments.
  • Knowledge of Azure governance, cost management , and optimizing infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices in a cloud environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure certifications , such as Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect.
  • Experience with network segmentation and security controls in cloud environments.
  • Experience with Azure Policy, Blueprints, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) .
