Our client, an ambitious top 50 Central London based Accountancy, has an exciting role for an Audit Manager to join their rapidly growing team. Reporting directly to a Partner, the role will have a split between audit and non-audit assignments (management accounting, accounting, corporate tax and private client work). As the Audit Manager your key responsibilities will include: Managing a portfolio as the first point of contact for clients with turnovers up to £200m Experience in management of the audit process from planning through to completion and review of work prepared by the audit team review of corporation tax returns including capital allowances computations Assist in training junior staff and providing feedback Occasional ad hoc assistance in bespoke assignments such as preparing cash flow forecasts or due diligence reports About You: You will need to be ACA / ACCA qualified with 2 years post-qualification experience and previous audit experience within an accountancy practice. Confident with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral You have developed good client liaison skills in different sectors, maintaining and developing the strong relationships which are key to the group’s growth Work well as part of a team Analytical skills and attention to detail and ability to think laterally to be capable of identifying potential problems and providing solutions Up to date with current auditing and accounting issues and conversant with relevant auditing and accounting standards (FRS102 and IFRS), company law etc Good tax knowledge, in particular corporation tax. A good awareness of VAT and payroll taxes Show initiative, exercise judgement and take ownership of issues from start to finish Experience of working on a wide range of clients (some FCA experience would be beneficial) Computer literate. A working knowledge of CCH and Proaudit would be an advantage experience or knowledge of the Mercia audit programme would also be helpful Willing and able to work under pressure and cope flexibly with demanding deadlines Career progression is important The role is on a hybrid basis with a mixture of office and home working.
