The Junior Trader will support the Global Base Metals team’s expanding operations. This profile will assist the Senior Derivatives Trader with trading strategies in and around the leading Base Metal exchanges and support wider desk activities. The ideal candidate will have existing exposure within a trading environment and possess a strong understanding of Base Metals and the workings of the LME and CME.

A solid understanding of risk and position taking is essential, along with the ability to fit into a dynamic and ambitious environment.

Main Responsilibities

Execution of buy and sell orders for Base Metals transactions under the guidance of a senior trader.

Ensuring timely and accurate capture of transactions within the CTRM system and contributing to Desk PnL, position analysis, and reporting, while complying with limits and frameworks provided.

Managing relationships with leading derivative partners for the desk, including brokers, banks, and regulatory bodies.

Analyzing market trends, financial reports, and trading volumes to identify trading opportunities.

Reviewing and quantifying trading PnL with Risk/Finance functions.

Developing and testing trading models and strategies using quantitative methods and historical data.

Collaborating with other traders to optimize Base Metals trading strategies and share market insights.

Participating in the development and enhancement of trading systems and platforms.

Researching and implementing new trading technologies and tools to improve efficiencies for the desk.
