Are you an experienced or newly qualified teacher looking for a rewarding new opportunity to support SEN learners?

Milk Education are in partnership with a well-established Primary & Secondary special school who cater to children and young people aged 5-18 years old with ASD and are seeking a highly effective and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to support the school in a range of sensory and therapeutic interventions and multi-disciplinary approach to meeting the needs of students.

The successful candidate will believe in the importance for students to achieve their full potential and offer a rich and stimulating curriculum that supports student learning in a well-established special school. The role will include working closely with expert support staff, as well as building relationships with parents, governors and the wider community.

Role of the role of SEN Class Teacher:

* To work closely with colleagues on the planning and implementation of the curriculum to ensure high quality provision throughout the school day, term and year.
* To record and evaluate children’s progress using relevant evaluation procedures
* To communicate frequently with the parents and provide activities to help consolidate learning at home
* To manage behaviour according to the school behaviour policy
* To ensure teaching and learning is delivered in a highly adapted manner such as using supportive technology, multi-sensory and kinaesthetic approaches.
* To be fully aware of the school policies and procedures

SEN Class Teacher must haves:

* A teaching qualification recognised by the DfE.
* Training - special educational needs including autism or other relevant specialism
* A good knowledge of and commitment to the National Curriculum and the implications for students with special needs and autism.
