Thrive Oldham are recruiting on behalf of our well established client in the Merthyr area an Engineering Manager The Engineering Manager will be responsible for planning and coordinating projects, manage coach and lead a varied group of engineers, develop strategies to enhance innovation, manage budgets, implement technical standards ensure successful project execution along with the overseeing of equipment maintenance, ensuring all site service adhere to regulated compliance and promote a safety-first culture within the process engineering and plant maintenance departments. Key Activities/Elements TOTAL: 100% Lead and develop existing engineering team, sharing knowledge and experience through coaching and mentoring, leading by example through consistent Project Management. 30% Creating a safe and wellbeing environment for both team and process ensuring all TPM, compliance and basic equipment measures / process are followed on time every time. 20% Promote innovation to enhance the future growth of the business sharing new ideas for continuous improvement and engaging with operations team to develop a lean process. 30% Develop a robust problem solving environment utilizing 6 sigma methodology to improve QCD through facility TPM , improve OEE and execution of facility compliance to coincide with ISO 45001 Accreditation. 20% Main KPI'S Health and Safety adherence Work environment 5s assurance Facility and asset control TPM / OEE of all section equipment / machinery People management through engagement and enablement KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Indicate the education level, previous experience, specific knowledge, skills and abilities required to meet minimum requirements for this position. Education level and/or relevant experience(s) Degree Level in Electronic/Electrical Engineering PLC Programming knowledge / Experience Machine shop experience Knowledge and skills (general and technical) Software proficiency: require proficiency in industry-specific software, such as 2D/3D CAD skills (Inventor or SolidWorks preferred). Project Management tools, Engineering Principles: understands engineering principles, enabling them to use complex systems and provide project guidance. Knowledge of these principles enables them to innovate and devise efficient strategies to help optimise team performance and project outcomes. Equipment Operation: understands how to operate various equipment in their industry to oversee the safe use. This includes machinery such as hydraulic presses, computer numerical control machines, testing apparatus and software systems. Technical writing: apply technical writing skills to produce clear and comprehensive documents, such as project reports, operation manuals and proposals. Regulatory knowledge: knowledge of relevant industry regulations to ensure that work processes and outcomes comply with legal regulations. Examples of such regulations may include safety and industry-specific standards and environmental regulations. Project management: project management skills to organise tasks, manage timelines and control budgets. These skills contribute to the efficient execution of projects. Leadership: guide their teams towards project goals. They motivate team members, resolve disputes, and foster a positive work environment. Technical Background [Experience up to 5 years+ Ability to read/understand engineering drawings. Competencies (Leadership, technical etc.) Resilient - Always able to demonstrate a Can-do Attitude. Self-Awareness - Demonstrate a level of emotional intelligence. Communication - Adaptable and transparent dialogue Leadership Continuum - Ability to move through the leadership styles Other requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training, physical or mental abilities required) Awareness of working in a high-volume manufacturing environment. High degree of flexibility relating to working hours. Self - motivated. Must be able to demonstrate Team Player Desirable: 6sigma certificationGOALS Indicate 3 to 5 goals for this position. Enhance Productivity through process facility improvement. Reduce loss cost through TPM / OEE. Continuous Improvement of facility and H&S. Deliver on time every time for bespoke manufacturing. Salary Competitive Monday to Thursday 8am - 5pm Friday Early Finish
