Balfour Beatty’s Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business is growing, and we’re looking for a motivated and dependable General Operative to join our team. As a General Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient running of our Project Stores and Yard . Supporting the Project Stores Person and HGV Drivers, you will assist in the issue and receipt of a wide range of materials and equipment required for building and maintaining high voltage overhead transmission lines across the UK.
This role will be based between our projects along the East Coast of Scotland, so flexibility to work across sites is essential
Assist he HGV driver with all duties
The co-ordination of plant & stock ensuring all administration procedures are followed and ensuring accurate stock management.
Check deliveries against advice notes and for quality, quantities & damage.
Hiring, acceptance and off hiring of plant and equipment.
Cooperate with BB in all matters pertaining to Health and Safety to enable the Company to carry out and enhance its legal duties and requirements.
Do not undertake any safety critical work activity or activity for which a specific competence is required unless you have received the necessary training/instruction and/or assessment and hold the appropriate Certificate of Competence/Authority to Work. Full clean driving licence
The Following Qualities/experience Are Desirable
Experience of working on a variety of construction project types.
Valid Telehandler licence (will be an advantage)
