This role is to support our migration of card management processing to Plard, a group cards system.

A great opportunity is available to join the Payments & Cards architecture team as a solution architect. This is an exciting time for the payments technology teams as we transform how we operate within the Bank alongside the Payments Centre of Excellence and key suppliers such as PagoNxt, to meet evolving customer expectations and industry changes.
Solutions architecture is part of the domain architecture team within Santander UK. It works closely with other architecture teams and liaises with business and IT colleagues in Santander UK, as well as Santander global architecture.
The team concentrates on the functional architecture of applications and how they interact with other systems. The team works as an architecture community across domains sharing reusable patterns and solutions learnt on projects, independently of projects and domains.

The difference you’ll make:
Be embedded into the functional domain, balancing business requirements with functional & technical strategy to ensure we deliver sustainable solutions.
·Producing functional architecture for projects.
·Reviewing the designs that have been produced by engineering teams using guidance and patterns that have been provided to them by architecture.

What you’ll bring:
We are looking for candidates with cards domain expertise who can demonstrate experience of solution architecture:
·Knowledge and experience of cards processing, covering all capabilities, including issuing and acquiring, clearing and authorization, disputes and card management.
·Experience of architecture design. Proven experience in defining and documenting pragmatic architectures, that balance business requirements with functional and technical strategy to deliver sustainable solution. Experience with working with stakeholders to help define and deliver strategic objectives and roadmaps.
·Passionate about driving and leading change by creating practical, workable architectures aligned to IT principles and following appropriate governance.
