Job Description As an embedded software engineer, you will join the team in West Sussex to support our activities within the Defence sector.
You will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and maintenance of cutting-edge embedded software solutions for a bespoke system used on military land vehicles. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our products.
Embedded Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for defence surveillance and targeting systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and security protocols.
System Integration: Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software with hardware components, ensuring seamless operation and reliability.
Performance Optimisation: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and other software-related issues to enhance system efficiency.
Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and validation of embedded software to meet stringent quality and reliability standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, hardware engineers, and project managers, to ensure successful project execution.
Compliance: Ensure that all software development activities comply with industry regulations, security guidelines, and customer requirements

Proven experience (2+ Years) in embedded software development in C++
Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded software development tools.
Knowledge of secure coding practices and encryption algorithms.
Ability to obtain security clearance as required for defence projects (have lived in the UK for at least 5 years with no gaps of 3+ months in the time period)
Degree in a relevant engineering field
