We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our busy and experienced team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
Position Overview:
This is a unique opportunity for a talented Paralegal to gain invaluable experience in the fields of business crime and litigation. The successful candidate will support our lawyers in handling complex cases, providing crucial assistance in all aspects of case management. Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Assist in the preparation and management of case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
- Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research on various aspects of business crime and litigation, providing concise and well-documented findings.
- Document Preparation: Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence.
- Client Interaction: Liaise with clients, providing updates and gathering necessary information under the supervision of senior lawyers.
- Court Proceedings: Assist in the preparation for court proceedings, including the organisation of bundles, exhibits, and witness logistics.
- Administrative Support: Perform general administrative duties such as managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and maintaining case databases.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the legal team to ensure smooth case progression and provide support as needed on various projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent.
- Completion of the Legal Practice Course (LPC) is preferred.
- Previous experience as a paralegal in a law firm, ideally within business crime and litigation.
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures and documentation.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- High level of attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
