- JOB PURPOSE:

As my clients Control Systems Engineer, you will create, draft, source and package suitable products and components using customer specification and recommendations. You will research suitable solutions and estimate costs and timescales as well as report progress of all assigned tasks to the Project Manager and Management Team. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Producing Electrical Schematics and drawings in line with project specifications Be proficient at working with a range of servo drives to setup to work with a range of motors/actuators Have excellent problem solving skills to analyse issues with servo drive and software issues Researching, designing and writing new software programs Programming well-designed, testable, efficient code Producing specifications, and complying with project plans and industry standards Document and maintain software functionality Confirm system and components capabilities by designing testing methods; finished products and system capabilities Preparing product reports by collecting, analysing and summarising information and trends Designing, developing and maintaining electrical control systems and components Reading and understanding design specifications and technical drawings Carrying our feasibility studies for new technical innovations Testing installations and systems, and analysing data In addition, undertake any other duty or responsibility that may reasonably be allocated by the Technical Manager or Managing Director. It is a requirement of my client that all staff work in a flexible manner compatible with their jobs and in line with the objectives that Client must fulfil. Please note that the job description for this position may be reviewed and amended to incorporate the future needs of the department and of the client. EXPERIENCE A Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar and knowledge of Software Programming are essential. You'll be proficient in the use of IT Systems and you will be adept at making electrical wiring and cable diagrams. If you have Project Management experience and Circuit PCB design, this would be advantageous. Our Ideal Control Systems Engineer will be commercially aware with the ability to communicate with clients, colleagues and management to explain complex issues clearly and concisely. You'll have a logical, analytical and creative approach to problems. You must also have the following systems capability: Minimum 5+ years in a similar Controls System Engineer role Motion Control Servo Drives Embedded C C Sharp / C++ PLC logic programming HMI programming Use of AutoCAD or ePlan for design of control panels and wiring diagrams SKILLS & BEHAVIOURS: Excellent communication skills The ability to work both in a team and independently Able to plan and organise your own workload Professional telephone manner Positive, can do attitude Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise work effectively Excellent work ethic & Attendance Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office Able to use Sage to support the job role. Able to use Salesforce (CRM) to support the job role Flexible and the willingness to travel
