During mission definition development, you will work with the commercial & Pr o gram organization to ensure mission requirements are valid and mission scope is adequately defined. See beyond the existing infrastructure and provide detailed inputs to support infrastructure projects
Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver the right technical solution that meets budget & schedule constraints
Develop the overall mission requirements and flow down to manage the systems engineering team
Own the technical risk management function in collaboration with the PM to ensure that risk is managed and minimised in a consistent & repeatable manner
Act as the Responsible Engineer for the whole solution - Platform, Bus, Mission, Manufacturing, Test, Operations, GSE & Customer ICD
BEng in Engineering equivalent STEM-related subject, or equivalent work experience.
5+ of experience working in a technical engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Controls, RF Communications, etc) or as a systems engineer for complex integrated systems.
Comprehensive understanding of space systems, concepts of operations, and remote systems operation.
7+ years of experience as a space systems engineer working across engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Controls, Radio/Comms, etc)
Experience coordinating or leading diverse technical teams spanning multiple engineering disciplines and time zones
Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with clients and effectively communicating with other members of cross-functional teams
Good programming experience (Python preferred)
Spire operates a hybrid work model, and this position will require you to work a minimum of three days per week in office.
