We are looking for a Community Engagement Officer to incorporate to a one of the UK’s leading children’s hospices, providing care for over 350 children and their families every year.

Location: Barnet

Sector: Health and education

The Community Engagement Officer will work closely with the Community Engagement Manager and Senior Head of Supporter Engagement to play an instrumental part in taking the Community Giving programme to the next level.

Tasks
  1. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and will be able to provide high levels of stewardship to a variety of audiences, in order to raise the vital funds needed to run their services, and to increase the hospices visibility in the community.
  2. You will play a key role in develop existing fundraising products and launching new third party fundraising initiatives.
  3. You will be able to creatively engage our local community to get involved in our high-value campaigns and events
  4. We are looking for an individual with experience in customer or supporter relations; who can proactively engage both existing and potential supporters, build meaningful long-term relationships with a variety of audiences, and who is able to efficiently work with data to provide timely, targeted, relevant, and engaging communications to our various community groups.
  5. This role is community-based, and is extremely varied and you will have the opportunity to attend a wide variety of different events, present to a range of different audiences and gain new experiences.
Requirements
  1. Candidate needs to of been a community officer previously and used to fundraising events. Events can vary from Golf days to Winter balls, showcasing the company and raising money to hit revenue targets.
  2. You will be an exceptional, eloquent communicator; a natural relationship builder.
  3. You will have the ability to prioritise your time and workload effectively to meet tight deadlines
  4. You will hold a full driver’s license
  5. You will have a solutions-focused outlook, and have the ability to listen and read people in a variety of situations, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Experience of managing a portfolio of community groups or experience within a customer service role is desirable, as well as using a CRM database system.
