IT Delivery Lead | 6 Month Contract | 2 days per week in office
The Senior Delivery Lead will be responsible for leading solution development teams to realize the product roadmap and will play a critical role in helping to build out delivery capability within the relevant area. A vital part of the role is delivering the requirements as per the customer expectations.
They will be responsible for the most complex and highest priority products and value streams in the business unit they are based in. They will be accountable for end-to-end delivery of the product lifecycle and product roadmap via multiple delivery teams through the use of best practice methodologies, ensuring effective control over costs and resourcing enabling the delivery of business outcomes.
Key to the role is to manage the operational aspects of the delivery teams, ensuring risk, legal, security, procurement, and compliance requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading E2E solution across the business and 3rd party providers meets Industry requirements & across design, process, and delivery.
- Responsible for running scrum of scrums across all the teams.
- Primary point of contact for Programme Board with a duty to update on progress and raise programme level Risks & Issues
- Attend all the mandatory Industry Programme Governance cadence.
- Responsible for feeding back industry mandated program changes into the program to incorporate into design and delivery.
- Responsible for managing the delivery of the solution across all platform delivery teams and enabling industry program
Essential Functional / Technical Skills
- Relevant practitioner qualification required; degree-level education desired
- Ideally skilled in a number of project management / change management approaches, in particular Agile delivery, as well as the likes of Prince2, APM, and PMP
- Experience in applying various waterfall (e.g. Prince2, APM, PMP) and Agile methodologies and supporting context, such as governance, process, and culture across different levels of the portfolio
- Ability to negotiate timelines and other delivery metrics across the product lifecycle
- Ability to identify and manage key stakeholders
- Application of the concepts of delivery risks and issues
- Ability to develop countermeasures and contingency plans associated with significant delivery risk
- Experience of project cost accounting and a good understanding of capex vs opex budgetary structures
- Ability to choose and deploy the appropriate approaches for outcome delivery
- High-level knowledge of development processes, including but not limited to DevOps, Scrum, Kanban, and lean development
- Shows a high level of planning aptitude
- Reporting on product performance, value, and financials (along with the Product Owner)
- Support budget and funding submissions, advocating for the correct level of funding to deliver against the product's business and operational requirements
- Takes pride in delivering value and all the while minimizing technical debt
