As a Graphic & Wayfinding Designer at Design JD, you will be an integral part of our close-knit, creative team. You’ll have the unique opportunity to lead on a diverse range of projects, from wayfinding audits and strategies to branding, information graphics, and promotional materials. This role is perfect for someone excited about pushing the boundaries of branding & design and making a real impact on how our clients connect with their audiences.

This role is part of a collaborative setup between Design JD and Claro, a leading consultancy specializing in inclusive design, wayfinding and accessibility. You will have the unique opportunity to work across both teams, contributing to projects that blend Design JD’s creative expertise in branding and wayfinding with Claro’s focus on making environments more navigable and accessible for all.

You will work closely with our Studio Manager but will have the autonomy to see projects through from concept to completion, ensuring that every design not only meets but exceeds client expectations. With a hybrid work setup, you’ll enjoy the flexibility of working from home while also spending 2 days a week in our inspiring Sutton, South London office.

Innovative Design: Think outside the box to produce fresh ideas and interactive designs, pushing the boundaries of traditional wayfinding and graphic design.
Project Management: Manage projects from brief to print, coordinating with external contractors, and ensuring timely delivery within budget.
Site Engagement: Travel to various locations across the UK to conduct surveys, write wayfinding audits and strategies, and oversee the implementation of your designs.

Design Expertise: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) on a Mac, with a strong portfolio showcasing your skills in branding, information design, and signage.
Creative Problem-Solving: Ability to approach design challenges with creativity and innovation, delivering solutions that are both functional and visually stunning.
Time Management: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines without compromising on quality.

Digital Savvy: Understanding of digital technologies like WordPress, HTML, CSS, and experience with video creation and editing.
Emerging Tech Enthusiast: Interest in staying up-to-date with the latest design tools and technologies, including CAD.

Minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths, English, and ICT.
