Head of Procurement

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior procurement professional with a proven track record to join the team at The ExtraCare Charitable Trust. You will lead the procurement team within an organisation that makes a real difference to people’s lives. This role will be at the forefront of reshaping our procurement approach and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to drive and guide the ongoing development of the team to deliver tangible impact.

This is a varied and challenging role, covering the whole spectrum of procurement and supplier management. You’ll be working within the friendly, committed Governance & Compliance Directorate, with an emphasis on positive collaboration with colleagues across the Charity.

This role includes a generous benefits package including a competitive salary of £75,000.

Our ideal candidate

  • We are seeking a Head of Procurement who is highly motivated, tenacious, and proactive with deep and broad category knowledge and a proven track record in procurement and contracts management.
  • You will have the skills and experience to take a pragmatic, agile and effective approach to multi-site procurement. An experienced professional, able to think both strategically and tactically to deliver a procurement service compliant with legal, regulatory and ethical standards in line with the strategic and operational requirements of the Trust.
  • You will be committed to excellence and perpetually seek to develop and improve the procurement process, mitigating procurement and commercial risk and seeking the most advantageous terms for the Trust.
  • You will be our in-house expert on all things procurement.
  • As a member of the ExtraCare Senior Management Team, you will naturally work in a collaborative way and be comfortable driving positive change.
