Software Engineer (Integration Specialist)

Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)

Location: Fully Remote (UK-based)

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with expertise in system integration, API development, and troubleshooting to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to technical direction, collaborate across teams, and ensure seamless system integration, with a focus on performance optimization and adherence to security protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement innovative technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain APIs, middleware, and an rSpec testing suite to facilitate seamless data flow between systems.
  • Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging to identify and resolve integration issues.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and data privacy regulations during all integration processes.
  • Optimize application performance to deliver an exceptional user experience.
  • Design maintainable database schemas and clear, efficient data structures.
  • Develop robust technical solutions with minimal direction or guidance.
  • Actively participate in organizational processes, such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential technical issues and bottlenecks.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in API development, system integration, and middleware management.
  • Proficiency in designing maintainable database schemas and efficient data structures.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
  • Experience with rSpec or similar testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and processes like sprint planning and backlog refinement.
  • Understanding of security protocols and data privacy regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
