GFM Driver

GFM Driver Location: Hillsborough, Sheffield. Hours: 35 hours, 06:00 to 13:00 Monday to Friday Salary: Competitive Contract Type: Permanent Are you looking for a fresh new challenge? Do you have an interest in manufacturing or metals? Is progression one of your career goals? Due to internal moves we are looking for a GFM Operator within our GFM Department. More about us: We manufacture high-integrity, open-die and closed-die forged components in nickel alloy, titanium, stainless steel and carbon alloys for customers and tier-one suppliers within the aerospace, power generation, marine as well as oil and gas sector. We are unique due to the combination of open and closed-die forging while also undertaking the whole production process from raw material to the finished product in one location. The role: You will be responsible for: Drive, set up and operating the GFM in line with safe systems and quality standards Maintain efficient production by operating the machine at the correct cycle times or speed required. Liaise with other department such as Maintenance for repairs as required. Liaise with forge press as required for cogging etc. Decision making with regards to team utilisation Effective handover between shifts Responsible for health and safety of yourselves and others around you Working in line with route cards, raising non-conformances as required in line with procedure Monitor machine and furnaces on a frequent basis to check that product is produced to customer specifications What are we looking for? We are looking for a proactive individual who is looking for a fresh new challenge within a growing independent company. You would need to have experience with working with hot metal and or a background in machining or CNC Programming. You must have experience operating GFM machine including set up and closing down but full training will be given. Desirable: Fully experienced in all aspects of GFM Driving Fully experienced in all aspects of GFM tooling set up Good working knowledge of the GFM Department Fork Lift Truck drivers license Qualifications: 5 GCSEs with grad C or above including Maths and English.
