LOCATION:  Head Office, Nottinghamshire TYPE:  Remote hybrid PLANNER ROLES At P&DG, we’re a multidisciplinary team of Planners, Urban Designers, and Heritage Consultants working across the UK. Our projects span a range of scales and sectors, planning applications, master planning, regeneration, planning appeals, EIA, public engagement, site promotion and education; all with a shared focus on delivering positive and creative planning outcomes. With a long-standing reputation and a diverse portfolio of public and private clients, sectors, geographic reach, and extensive existing workload we’re now looking to expand our Planning capabilities. To support this growth, we’re seeking talented Senior/Principal Planners and an Associate-level Planner to join our team and help shape the next chapter of P&DG’s success. OUR REQUIREMENTS Support new and existing client projects across a wide range of sectors and geographic spread. Maintain client relationships and provide support as part of a team to colleagues on larger scale and complex projects. Typical workload includes: involvement in appraisals, planning applications, strategic planning, community consultation, local plan promotion, negotiating, project management, client presentations and appeal work. Starting off handling smaller scale planning applications, with on the job mentoring and training, there is opportunity for promotion to Senior Planner and for contributing towards business development. Networking and business development Fee budgets and budget management Securing client repeat business and some self-generated new projects/client leads, partial generation of some workload Practice promotion and marketing Presentations to secure new projects Supported professional development across multiple aspects of the planning system Gain RTPI accreditation if not already done so   ESSENTIAL SKILLS & CAPABILITIES Essential interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication Good understanding of IT and Microsoft Office Good report writing skills Ability to analyse complex data Excellent time management, prioritising work effectively Strong organisational skills Ability to work under pressure, plan and meet deadlines Resourcefulness Methodical and disciplined Energetic and enthusiastic Ability to work as part of a team or on your own Good at building relationships Strong attention to detail including problem solving skills Ability to multitask Professional and friendly Full clean driving licence   ADDITIONAL SKILLS & CAPABILITIES Senior Planner – 1 – 2 years’ minimum professional experience working in the public or private sector Hold a valid UK Driving Licence Urban Design and masterplanning understanding would be beneficial Whilst not necessary, the potential to bring along new clients or contacts may be useful   REMUNERATION Competitive market rate of pay Potential flexibility in core work hours Flexibility in working locations Minimum of 22 days holiday plus Bank Holidays Birthday Leave Health Insurance Company Pension Scheme Payment of one professional membership, others considered on merit Discretionary leave days over the Christmas & New Year Period Potential performance bonus We also enjoy a high level of staff retention through being a dynamic close-knit and friendly team with a flexible caring attitude Salary range:  Competitive market rate   CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS Monday 1st December 2025  HOW TO APPLY Essential: Please submit a covering letter and CV to careers@panddg.co.uk.
