The Opportunity We're growing our Commercial Team in Dartford and looking for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to take their career to the next level. You'll play a key role in delivering temporary accommodation and hoarding projects , supporting cost management, reporting, and contract administration across a wide range of works. What You'll Do Own QS responsibilities: measurement, valuation & work agreements Prepare interim applications for payment & subcontractor accounts Price variations and negotiate changes with clients & supply chain Assist in tenders & establish project budgets (“budget to build”) Monitor, control & report costs – ensuring projects stay on track Administer NEC, JCT & bespoke contracts About You 2–3 years' experience in a QS role (main contractor / plant hire preferred) Strong numeracy & commercial awareness Confident communicator, collaborator & negotiator Proactive, motivated & able to work independently Passionate about construction, safety & doing things the right way We also take care of our people Our competitive package includes: Base salary + car/travel allowance Access to PMI Enhanced pension and parental leave schemes Life, dental, and critical illness insurance Income protection 33 days' holiday (including bank holidays) Professional development opportunities About Us Laing O'Rourke are an international engineering and construction company delivering state-of-the-art infrastructure and buildings projects for clients in the UK, Middle East and Australia.
