This key role will be vital in achieving our extensive digital transformation programme. Transformation projects are underway or scheduled across all aspects of the business, including electronic care and medication planning, finance, customer, and people projects, with the aim of delivering significant improvements to our operational and financial performance.
We will look to you to develop and implement technically sound programme plans, as well as develop our team of Project Managers to deliver large scale change. You will oversee multiple projects simultaneously, so we are looking for an experienced senior Programme Director, with the drive to see projects through to completion, ensuring your team have the skills and the knowledge to deliver on complex plans.
This position will form part of Barchester's Senior Management Team, and will require regular travel across the UK.

Required experience and qualifications:
Large scale Project or Programme Management qualification
Experience of successfully creating, budgeting, and delivering projects in systems, processes, and operations within agreed timescales
Knowledge of programme management methodologies
Track record of successful change management in a complex environment
Ability to influence at all levels, including Executive Board level
Demonstrable experience of inspirational leadership
Full UK driving license with ability to travel nationwide and stay away on an ad hoc basis
Role and responsibilities:
Drive the delivery of the Transformation and New Build Commissioning programmes
Agree and advise on terms of reference and an appropriate governance structure
Ensure that projects are established and managed in line with best practice
Develop an implementation and change management approach that embeds lasting change
Lead and develop a team of project managers to ensure successful delivery of projects
Ensure that all risks associated with the overall programme are clearly identified and managed
Effective procurement of external resources
Develop a robust system of post project evaluation and assessment of benefits realised for each project within the programme
Work in partnership with the relevant Project Sponsors, to ensure project delivery is at pace and to the required quality standards.
