Our client is a growing Global Non-Profit Organisation, who are looking for a Data Protection Manager to join their team. They are offering hybrid working, a competitive salary and benefits.
The Data Protection Manager’s role is a vital element of the Risk & Compliance team (a significant part of the Legal, Risk and Compliance function), whose purpose is to provide the best advice to the business in order to create and protect organizational value. They will support organizational privacy improvement across the organization including the transfer of data internationally.
Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver a robust data privacy management framework that embeds privacy, by design and default, across the business.
Develop, implement, record and manage Records of Processing Activities, Legitimate Interest Assessments, Transfer Risk Assessments, Data Protection Impact Assessments.
Collaborate with Digital to ensure appropriate technical controls are in place.
Manage and respond to Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) promptly and effectively.
Support the organizational identification, assessment and management of data privacy risks.
Collaborate with the Data Governance team to assist with the implementation of data privacy strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.
Along with the Director, Risk and Compliance provide advice, guidance and support to stakeholders on data privacy matters. For example, data handling, storage, retention, categorization, processing, and sharing, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Measuring and tracking privacy compliance activities and communicating privacy risks to stakeholders.
Working with cross-functional groups of stakeholders but particularly the Digital team to advise on best practice “privacy by design” and “trust by design” strategies.
Develop and implement engaging data protection training across the business.
Develop, implement and maintain data incident response.
5+ years experience within Data Protection/ privacy related roles preferably in a multi-jurisdictional organisation.
~ Demonstrable understanding of best practices in data management, GDPR, developing data protection legislation around the World, and information security standards (e.g. Demonstrable understanding and experience of DPIAs, ROPAs and data breach response plans
~ Experience in working with legal and data governance teams to develop and implement data privacy policies and to help develop a data privacy compliance culture.
~ Bachelors Degree in a related field
~ Data protection/ privacy qualification (CIPP, CIPM)
~ Experience with a data privacy software is preferable but not essential.
