Role Overview:

At Sweet Bee, we do things differently. All of our incredible organic products are made in-house. This means that our supply chain is an integral part of growing our business - from sourcing high quality organic ingredients, to ensuring that our production team always has enough stock to make the products required to fill customer orders. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Supply Chain Manager to scale-up our supply chain function as the business experiences hyper-growth. As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring our overall supply chain strategy and in order to maximise efficiency and productivity - all whilst maintaining the ingredient integrity we are so proud of at Sweet Bee.

As the Supply Chain Manager, you will be at the heart of our operational success, responsible for optimising margins, sourcing ingredients from cutting-edge suppliers, managing stock control, and ensuring seamless product availability. You will work closely with various departments to streamline processes and maintain high standards of efficiency, all while supporting our mission to deliver exceptional wellness products to our customers.

We’re looking for someone to join us in the office in our lovely studio in Frome, Somerset. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Margin Optimisation: Develop and implement strategies to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining product quality. Analyse and optimise supplier agreements to enhance margins and overall profitability. 
  • Supplier Procurement: Identify and establish relationships with innovative and reliable suppliers. Negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance to ensure the consistent availability of high-quality ingredients.
  • Stock Control Management and Forecasting: Oversee inventory levels and ensure optimal stock availability to prevent product shortages. Implement effective inventory management practices, demand forecasting and analyse sales trends to balance supply and demand. 
  • Process Improvement: Design and implement robust processes and systems to streamline supply chain operations. Continuously assess and refine processes to minimise disruptions and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with product development, marketing, and operations teams to align supply chain strategies with business objectives. Provide insights and recommendations to support product launches and market expansion.
  • Data Analysis: Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply chain operations. Utilise data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards. Maintain rigorous quality control measures to uphold the integrity of our products.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:  
  • Proven experience as a Supply Chain Manager or in a similar role within the wellness or consumer goods industry. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in margin optimization, supplier management, and stock control. 
  • Confident with data analysis and forecasting.
  • Experience using software and tools to manage in-house stock levels. We’re always open to new ideas at Sweet Bee and are looking for someone who wants to help us level up how we manage our in-house systems 
  • Confident to lead our procurement and experience working with raw ingredients and sourcing a large number of raw materials is a huge bonus. 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or professional certifications (e.g., APICS, CIPS) are a plus.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools. How will we interview you? 

We try to keep our interview process short, and as a small business, we can move through the stages quickly. Due to availability, there may be a change to the order of the interview process, but generally speaking, this is what you can expect:

  • The first interview would be with our COO Nikki and if there was a fit, we would send you over a very short task to complete to see how you would approach a real supply chain problem.
