Job Title: Buyer / Purchasing Administrator - Construction Location: West Midlands Salary: £35k - £40k per annum (depending on experience) Contract: Full-time, permanent We're working with a well-established, profitable and credible sub-contractor in the construction industry who have a full order book of projects lined up for next year and going forwards. They deliver high quality work and benefit from repeat business from Tier 1 contractors. We are seeking a Buyer / Purchasing Administrator to strengthen their procurement and commercial function. You'll have experience within a purchasing team in the construction industry and be looking for an exceptional opportunity to develop and progress into a Senior Buyer/Buyer. What you'll be doing as a key member of the purchasing team : Support the procurement of materials and subcontractor services for projects Raise purchase orders, issue enquiries, negotiate with suppliers, and monitor delivery schedules Purchasing administration: processing requisitions, purchase orders, goods-in records, supplier data, updating systems Maintain supplier relationships - evaluate performance, check compliance, resolve issues Work closely with site and commercial teams to align procurement to project requirements Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive procurement efficiencies What you'll bring to the role : Experience in purchasing/purchasing administration within the construction sector Good negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills Strong organisational skills, able to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Knowledge of construction materials would be ideal W hat's on Offer: Competitive salary and benefits Opportunity for development into a Senior Buyer A supportive team culture in a stable and growing organisation Exposure to high-profile and varied projects Sound of interest?
